Steve Umculo is an upbeat and energetic singer/songwriter born and raised in the culturally rich and bustling city of Johannesburg, South Africa. His music is a unique blend of afro-centric grooves and folk harmonies.
His live show is a one-man-band festival spectacle and is just as zestful as his personality. Steve’s positivity is as contagious as it is refreshing, and manages to seep through into his music and his live shows.

In what can only be described as a ground-breaking year for South African singer-songwriter Steve Umculo, the stage is now set for the launch of his single, "She Calls."
From headlining the opening night of Splashy Fen to playing drums for Casey Lowry, going viral on TikTok, recording music in Paris and now successfully crowdfunding his debut album, 2023 has been nothing short of a rocket-fueled journey for the rising star.
His South African tours have resulted in Steve playing at some of the biggest festivals in the country including main stage at Splashy Fen & Mieliepop as well as becoming a regularly featured artist in Jo'burg and Pretoria's touring circuits.
His sophomore EP, Fall From Grace, has seen 2 songs rise the ranks of SA radio charts, the most successful being ‘Your Eyes Through Mine’ which spent 2 weeks at number 1 on 5fm’s indie chart. The music video for that same song took home 3 international awards, 2 from the Munich Music Video Awards (Best Cinematography and Best Low Budget Music Video) and came 2nd in the International Songwriting Competition.
